The Vermont State House of Representatives recently passed H.C.R. 30. The resolution commemorates the life of Horace Greeley as a "19th century American journalist, political activist [and] social critic [who had] a broad and lasting impact on 19th century American society [and who served] a four-year apprenticeship with the ... Northern Spectator [in East Poultney and who would eventually become] the founder and editor of the New York Tribune."
The resolution recognizes the Horace Greeley Foundation and the celebration of his birthday on February 3. A copy of the resolution is archived at the Horace Greeley Foundation in East Poultney, Vermont.
